Did I kill my chicks with too high temp accidently?

Been outside working on the next coop and it was a nice warm day. Inside the house the temps got warm with the brooder lights from the chicks. Checked the temp in one of the incubators and it had gone up to 102. Not sure how long it was at that temp. Temp was checked this morning and it was fine. These eggs were placed in the incubator at 7 am on the 11th. Does anyone know if these are still alive or maybe it will be fine since it was so early in incubation?

You'll be ok. It doesnt start hurting the chicks too bad until it gets up to 104. Thats when the temp becomes deadly.

102 is nothing. My bator bounces between 99.0 and 102 constantly for the entire time. & though I've only had 2 hatches. My hatch rate is steadily increasing!

They can endure much higher temps for short times. There was another post here today that had 106 for several hours & still had live chicks hatch!

Thanks, I was afraid we had just lost 42 eggs. Sure will keep an eye on the inside temp when it warms up outside.
