My posts get a lot fewer answers these last few weeks. Seems to me that more of us would be home, not working, and doing chicken things. But instead, the forums are quieter.

Was there a purge or something that I missed? Deplorables or Burnie Bros sent off to goolags?

I thought I had imagined this too! Could be due to the added strain of seriousness we are all under...? Chickens, however, seem great at keeping things lighthearted! Glad to see new members joining

Hi Kiki, my name is Jacquelyn- I found this site because I rescued 10 eggs when their mother was abducted by a fox- anyhow, your balut egg forum was one of the firsts I came across with over 6K and read over 200 pages of it, before I had to stop because I had to gear up for my own hatch and had some unanswered questions myself! Just wanted to say you did a remarkable thing- and another user did tell me you ended up hatching some ballot eggs, so I hopped to a random page in the middle and began at a 500 cricket mail order ! I had a lot of laughs with that part too!! Anyway Congratulations on your hatch!!! I had a lot of secret laughs (at the time I didn’t know if it was “okay” to just comment on someone else’s posts since I didn’t know you and wasn’t invited). I was new (technically still am- only hatched one batch which ended yesterday) so I had no information to offer you either. However, I was able to use a lot of information given to you to set-up my “fake bator”, temperature, humidity rate, etc., so your thread came in handy for me a few times! Thank you for all the laughs

Actually this is not homeschooling. It's "crisis schooling". Just saying...

Depends on which people. Some have switched to actual homeschooling, some always were homeschooling and still are, and lots are indeed doing what could be called "crisis schooling."

Wonders where most those posts are...games, chat threads....or newbs posting Q's and experienced members answering them??
Raising chicks forum is smokin' the last few weeks...now coops is too.

I'm seeing plenty of breed/gender questions, too.

We don't all share the same opinions. Nature has done this before, quite frankly I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. The difference now is that we have the media to hype everyone up and we all know they love drama. It sells. A LOT. We are all going to die at some point and many people die far worse deaths. People who suffer violent, brutal, drawn out attacks. People who slowly die in pain from cancer. So no, I don't see this as a crisis.

Thank you for the warm welcome Omgosh- when you went back to the store to ask the questions about the balut eggs and tried to get it on video.. hilarious! Even prior when you said you could possibly use the translator!!! I had no idea what a balut egg was and that it even existed, let alone as a FOOD, until I read your post!!! The post of the parody Anaconda Nikki Minaj video “I Love To Eat Balut”, was too funny as well! The things people come up with these days I can definitely say I won’t be serving balut for dinner anytime soon, but to each their own, right?! I know I’ll continue following your threads and posts- so here’s to future ALL NIGHT/LATE NIGHT laughs!!!

Maybe so. But it is different than the style of parenting where one puts the kids on the schoolbus in the morning and knows that someone else will keep the children safe, learning, and busy all day. Parents are now having to do part of what has often been considered "schooling."
