Did the most stupidest thing and need urgent advice from experts

Woohoo!! How many eggs are in lockdown?

i got 2 in lockdown

one has pipped and the other nothing

i'm a little worried as a piece of shell has been removed by the chick completely exposing the membraine

i can see the chicks beak trying to break the membraine but it just cant do it and the membraine is intact

i will leave it a bit longer and then decide if i should poke a hole or not to give it air

Thanks for your condolences

will be a year in 2 weeks [need to order some flowers]

just to let you guys know

the first egg managed to poke a very tiny pin hole in membraine but still no more progress then that

The Second egg has just externally PIPPED :)

how they doing?

how they doing?

egg one PIPed 17 hours ago and im worried, all this time and onlt a small hole made, i can see its beak pecking but it just isn't rotating to zip

egg two PIPed 10 Hours ago and had made a small hole and a small line in membraine hopefully looks ok to zip again i can see the beak

i know an egg can take a day or 2 to zip and hatch [thats the normal time]

but wanted to ask how long does other peoples eggs take. what is your avarage time of PIP, Zip and Hatch

I feel Egg 1 may need help at some point, im hoping not though

It's hard to give an average because it can vary SO much. I've had eggs go from pip to zip immediately and hatch within an hour, but that's rare. I've also had eggs take more then 24 hours to zip. That always stresses me out. If I had to guess an average, I'd say somewhere between 12-18 hours for mine. I have eggs hatching as we speak. I got my first 4 pips yesterday evening. So far only 1 has hatched. My hatches seem to be running later and longer this year. I'm not sure why. We're having a cold, wet spring here, so maybe that's throwing it off?

My advice would be not to stress too much over each individual pip. I know how hard that is. Try to sit on your hands and give them time. My egg that hatched last night was pipped at the very tip top of the egg. I thought for sure the chick wouldn't be able to zip, but there he was this morning, wide-eyed and fluffy.

Good luck! Here's hoping both our hatches are good ones.
