I suspect that spider met his end shortly after the picture was taken, since it looks like the chick is eyeing it.
I used to be terrified of spiders. And then one day I just said to myself, "OK, get over it. They are smaller than you, and they aren't going to hurt you. It's not their fault that they're ugly." And I have been fine since.
Now if one is on me, I still flip out a little. But I don't run screaming from the room when I see one anymore.
Wasps are another story. I still am, and probably always will be, terrified of wasps. And earwigs. Brrrrr, earwigs.
