Did we just get our first duck egg?

Or is a funny shaped double yolk? I ask because it looks so different, but I am no expert. I did find in the corner of the run instead of a nesting box and it feels much smoother than our other eggs? I suppose I’ll find out for sure during breakfast! Cast your vote and tell me what you think.

It’s all fine, it happens with the chickens too. First egg they are just starting so they get deformed. It took my chickens 2 wks and my duck 1 month until they made beautiful eggs.

So, just don’t worry about it, she’ll get the hang of it

Quite possibly! Where did you gather the egg...? Surely your ducks and chickens aren’t housed together. Anyways, congratulations!!

They share the run but not coops. Grew up together and get along great.

You bet it's a duck egg! From the slight appearance of transparency, to the size, to the rustic shell, there's little confusing the two. My quackers and clucks are housed together, and distinguishing their eggs hasn't proven difficult. Congratulations!

The results are in! I just had a lovely egg sandwich with mozzarella for dinner. Not only did we find another egg just like it in the same spot today, but, it was a double yolker. It was also, definitely a delicious duck egg! Our first duck egg was a double yolker!

Did you find the flavor to be any richer? I personally don't relish duck eggs in anything other than baked goods, due to tendency to become rubbery when overcooked.
