I got a set of chicken salt & pepper shakers, a chicken calendar, and a small feeder on a canning jar that is decorated with rafia (will use for potpouri). My sis-in-law sent egg baskets lined with chicken fabric, and cross-stitched the chickens names around the base of the basket on a small strip of cloth. We also got a bird house shaped like a chicken from another sis-in-law (we'd sent them a Rock City birdhouse, which was a weird coincidence on gifts!).
I gave DH the "Don't let the chickens in" door mat. I gave all the in-laws and my siblings & Mom the blown eggs I decorated (they were very well received). I've been requested to make more of those for Easter!
I had tucked a soft feather into each of the wooden boxes we packed my blown eggs into, just for fun. I knew sis-in-law Pam had lost her mother earlier this year, but didn't know her mom had collected feathers. So I accidently brought Pam to tears, when the feather fell out of the box, but she says it was in a good way. Since this is the same family we traded birdhouses with, I feel we were on a very strange wavelength this year.
My kids made a point of NOT getting me any chicken stuff as gifts. They don't want to feed the addiction!
