Pretty close, I think. At that rate it costs me over $100 US per month to feed my chickens, and I'm only getting about 58 eggs per week, mostly bantam. I can't afford that.

I only have about 12 hens in lay, and some of those just went broody. Once my older pullets start laying it should become more cost-friendly to keep them.

I think it's super cute when they do that.Did you know that both duck and Jane have been molting and have lost their flight feathers and it looks really funny when they flap their little nubs at me? Lol
