Ugh! Its just been a couple days but it seems like they're a little quieter just having them on. Did you know that the 1st day I put them on, they got all excited like we were going for a ride or something. I felt SO GUILTY!!!

I felt guilty about my dogs, until they tore my daughters favorite chicken apart in front of her.

That was the end of those dogs. They got rehomed to non-chicken/farm families and everyone is *much* happier.

Then I got a dog who is fairly quiet in the house, and never kills chickens.

Did you know I had to buy bark collars for my 3 naughty pugs? I didn't want to do it, but they're getting really strung out & the kids can't concentrate on their school work. I didn't get the old school kind that actually zap you. These are supposed to give a warning beep then a harsh vibration. I only put them on for short periods when they absolutely have to be quiet. Did you know that the warning beep alone scares the crap outta them?

Did you know that after 45 minutes of fixing my brooders, I am too.

Ugh, I let my husband take care of htem the last week and they were not in good shape. LOL

Got everyone all situated, water fixed, changed out, etc.

and then hugged all my turkeys, and smacked them around a little for biting my hands. I think i'm going to have to train them to eat out of a bowl, since they get over-eager with hands. LOL

Did you know I got a shock collar for my dogs to teach them to leave the livestock alone and it didn't work?

Neither did shooting them in the *** with a pellet gun, from across the yard to make them think the goats did it.

Did you also know, this is why we no longer have those dogs? LOL

I got a great pyr to protect the chickens. I need a protector dog, so I got a breed that was known for being good with livestock.


My daughter got a half-chihuahua, half pug, for her birthday.

I would love to have a Great Pyrenees. My aunt had one when I was a kid & he was the sweetest dog in the world.

They really are. I was planning on getting her fixed, but a neighbor down the road has a BEAUTIFUL sweet male and asked me to consider letting them breed with mine, to get a puppy from me.

I'm considering it, since I've had a few other people ask me for a puppy from here.

People down here need good, solid dogs, for working. not AKC show dogs that cost thousands.
