I think most people on BYC eat and know what to eat better than the vast majority of the country. These "treats" that they describe are in general novelties for them and that is why they talk about them :) (imho)

:thumbsup

Pizza is a once every other month treat for me.

Chicken with different seasonings, various cuts of beef, salad and rice is commonly what I eat for dinner.

I'm making Senate bean soup. Bacon ends and pieces were on sale at the butcher shop where I get my leaf lard at.

I haven't had pizza in months. it's like 40 bucks to get gluten-free pizzas from domino's so we don't do it very often.

I make my own in cast iron pans- Still expensive, cause of the whole gamut of flours I have to buy, but I manage to do it for pretty cheap.

Did you know that we just had back to back fiascos?

First, because of all the flooding and rain, my daughters pony had a stick up his butt and kicked her in the arm - she's okay, no broken bones, but it upset her that he did it.

Dad had to go lunge him until he decided to get the stick removed from his rear end. (Proverbial stick)

While I was checking on her arm - my toddler found this WONDERFUL pile of dirt to play in... not realizing it was a fire ant hill... he'd been riding his bike, but decided to play in the dirt. Next thing I know, he's screaming, and I run over there to rescue him. I see all the ants and do the only logical thing I could.

Scoop him up, run him inside, and dump him in the bathtub and turn it on............ I managed to get all the ants off his hands, arms, legs, and feet... only to get them in my pants and shirt.
