My kids were not at all food focused so I guess that made it a lot easier.

Actually- thinking about it that is a total lie - they were focused on sports and music and science olympiad which totally sucked up every second I was not at work. 10 years flashed by like a tornado.
Keeping kids busy is a good thing. My other three younger kids, don't feel the need to raid the kitchen every 5 minutes, but my oldest has always been a binge eater. The medication he takes, makes it worse in some ways because it increases his hunger feelings. Luckily, his metabolism has been able to keep up with it so far (I do my best to keep him active.)

And it's amazing how fast it goes by, isn't it? I remember when he was my tiny little baby, and now he's a sassy teen. LOL

DYK I found a scorpion under the ducks water last night? It was small, like the size of a big bug. Nasty little beast! :sick

no, but i dont want to find them anywhere near me

DYK that when I was a Biology student, for my first degree, I had 3 pet scorpions and one wind scorpions AKA camel spider in my room at the students dormitory?

Solifuga =wind scorpions

1000

That must have impressed the girls

It is spring break for colleges and DD has a job manning the band office for the week as everyone else has gone.

She got a call from a very irate father demanding that he be removed from every mailing list at the university as he was cutting off his son from all financial and other support. Apparently he ranted for half an hour about how his ungrateful bratty son had turned down a full scholarship in favor of going to this (private) university and then had not actually gone home to visit his family for the year. He also said something about wanting to shoot himself.

DD then rang DH in floods of tears and thanked us for all we had done for her and for supporting her to accomplish her dreams, even when we had doubts. DH was in tears too and had to leave the room (we were at work). I was too but didn't let him know.

Your kids are so worth it.
you raised them right, congrats

I agree on the "kids are worth is"

I think the Father that called while venting made an error. He should have wanted to shoot the kid!

I know if my kid had a full ride somewhere and decided to go somewhere more expensive with no scholarship and it cost me a ton and then the ungrateful kid never visited, I would want to shoot him..

BTW my Kid would never do that, we raised him better than that....

DYK I've barely slept for 2 days? I'm so tired I almost just choked to death on my own saliva... Of course that's better than choking to death on some else's saliva.... I need a nap!

Did you know that solar lights have many uses beyond the path?
Use them when camping.
Use inside during a power outage (put sand in a soda bottle to use as a holder).
Charge one by your child's window, and use as a nightlight.
