Really? One of my first hens was an occational double yolker (a red sexlink) & one of DD's quail is an occational double yolker. I read somewhere that hens that lay double yolks don't live as long. I have no idea if that's true or not, but my double layer sexlink did die really young. Maybe a coincidence, but when the new quail started laying the occasional double I made a mental note to keep my eye on her.
Nope. DYK I haven't got one in a bit? Probably will get them again when my hens get older, I sold all but the young birds.
