DYK I bought a new waterer a few days ago? I only paid about $20 for it with a coupon.
Dyk I think I’m going to like it?
I've never seen one with a built-in handle; only the wire bail. How do you fill it if you can't set it upside down? Does it have a provision to hang it? Doesn't look very practical to me.

Pedro's...South of the Border, with the billboards starting 75-100 miles before you get there...the biggest ripoff tourist trap in the state.

Oh yeah! That place! Every time we go to Myrtle Beach (and every time we come back) my husband suggests we go there. "It's half an hour out of the way. Let's not." "But how can we NOT go?" "Because as little self-respect as I have, I still don't want to drive half an hour out of our way to tell the kids to not touch everything while you find something over priced to commemorate the experience of driving half an hour out of the way to tell the kids to not touch stuff?" "Well, when you put it like that..." This conversation has happened 6-10 times now.

And I guess you had them next to the bed? Or did you, hopefully, have them in another room with a closed door between you & them? :D
So, what's on your plate for the day?
They are across the hall. I shut my door after that, but this drafty house...! Shutting my door makes it very cold in my room.

I’ve seen a few with jug handles. They don’t hang, but even my “typical” looking 3 gallon waterer couldn’t hang. The handle popped out a few times, then bent. Too much weight.
This waterer has a plastic valve that pops when you set it in the base. I like it more than the 5 gallon one that you have to adjust the seal each time you accidentally bump it.
They are actually popping up all over lately. They are now sold at all the feed stores. The price ranges wildly.

From what I hear, you're not missing anything. Supposedly, it's gone downhill considerably over time. I used to run the road from here to Florence a few times a year (owned property there), but not in a bunch of years, so I can't attest to the condition.

We used to go to FL annually for Easter vacation when i was a kid. I enjoyed seeing their signs. It was not a place we stopped, my Dad was very tight with a dollar. But eventually i went there. Nothing to write home about.

I never had a 5 gal. model, but at 40lb+ I guess it would be too heavy. I guess mine are no more than 2 gal, if that. I've never had more than 17 birds at a time, so refilling it every other day was no big deal. Lately, I've just used the black rubber dog bowls for water;frozen water doesn't crack them, & it's easy to see if the water's running low, while the white (tank) on the plastic one gets cloudy and I can't tell from a distance how much water's in it.

Put a few drops of food color in the water.

We did too! DYK we drove straight down (about 17 hours) to cut out the hassle of seven children in two hotel rooms?
