I'll say. It makes quite the difference in my feed bill every month.

DW came up with an idea yesterday that I never thought of. She handed me a baggie containing a frozen chunk of pork fat, skin on, left over from processing when she went halves with a friend on a hog. She said maybe the chickens would like it. We'll find out. @Farmer Connie

They should love it. My birds got a hunk of ham a while ago.. neighbour's dog stole it but the chooks got a bunch.

We have a Restaurant food distributor close by that discounts overstock and scratch & dent. We buy cases of long yellow thingy's for $5 each. Big cases. The chickens and pigs tear em up.

lol.. in the barn is 5- fifty# bags of milled corn grits..
in an old chest freezer. We end up giving stuff away to friends and family. I gave my mother 50# of light brown sugar.. She said, What I going to do with that? I said, what an I going to do with 2 of them?..


I have so much salts/sugars/flours/rice and stuff it's nuts. But keeps the grocery bill low.
I know I shouldn't buy it but for name brand 50# bag of sugar for $3.. I'd be crazy not to buy it. Only having a tapped up tear from a pallet damaging it and taped closed with clear tape.
My guest bed room is a 12X14 pantry right now.

Here is a cool score.
Unopened case of restaurant grade tortilla chips, 6.5 lbs nacho cheese and 6.4 lbs jalapeno slices..
Grand total $5.
We have a BBQ coming up soon. This will be a hit!

For your information, education, & edification:
A friend of mine, who works for Weis (one of the major grocery chains here), told me that their store brand of white sugar is actually made by Domino & put in different bags, depending on who it's going to. It's all the same stuff!
