So on Fathers day, we had my father-in-law over for dinner. We got to talking about our eggs and he said how he had chickens growing up. He then said how the egg color is determined by if the chicken gets sunlight or not. I was trying really hard to be serious, I looked at him and simply said that the egg color is determined by the breed of chicken. He said...Nope, we had white chickens that laid brown eggs and that was because ours got to go out in the pen..Our neighbors had ones that laid white eggs because they stayed inside all the time. So i asked him where do the green and blue eggs come from then?? He never answered, he just kept eating his dinner. I was cracking up inside!

I love him to death but he tends to be a know it all..lol. When it comes to training race horses, he's got me, but I know my chickens!

Yeah, I had never heard that before!! I kept a straight face the whole time and DH shut up because he know I was correct...LOL
