*Died* Preemie duckling rejected with yolk sack to absorb Help Please

I think it is still yolk belly and no, she isn't bleeding. The yolk belly was twice that size 4 hours ago.

She hatched under a broody trio in straw, the odd bits you see are straw bits. I pick off the straw bits as she dries and it doesn't disturb her or the yolk. Is that right? Getting the temp higher, I have to watch the climb so I don't bake her.

Thank You for helping!!!

Need to get that temp highs, get it up to closer to 100 I can't see in the pic very good. Is it possible that she doesn't have yolk and what u are seeing is her belly button swelled up? Sometimes the two look very similar if you are not aware of them.

If you can give me a Better pic with more lighten I could tell you exactly what you are seeing. If it's the belly button then no need to keep it wet its best to get it to shrink down and you can do that by raising the temp and keeping the humidity down.

Raised the box to the heat lamp and we are now waiting for a heat increase as suggested. She continues to peep a lot more as time goes by.

She seems still ok but I am so tired. I have to sleep a bit. She still keeps periodically peeping. I hope we both make it to morning.

I wouldn't think since she is completely hatched she needs the temps that high maybe Lacrystol thought she was still in the egg. Brooding temps should be 85-90 but I have never used 90. and never lost one.

How is she doing this morning? hope the yolk sac is completely absorbed now.

Yolk sack is now a bit puddly but she made it through the night and she is no longer attached to the egg shell fragments. Temps held 81-85F but the humidity is down to 38%.

Don't worry about Humidity she is out of the shell so treat her as a brooded duckling. do you have any iodine? if you do and can swab some onto her yolk sac that is left, it will help kill bacteria that is what you have to be concerned about now that she doesn't get infection. Hard to tell but has the sac absorbed any from last night?Or Veterycin spray for wounds and infection if you have any spray that on it. Try to keep the temps at 85 if you can.

as soon as cloth gets soiled under her put in a clean one to keep bacteria to min.

I don't see yolk? I see a swelled up belly button, with blood still in the veins.

but shes technically not hatched, if her belly button is still swelled up that's not a completed hatching, and exspecially if theres yolk. So I would say definitely get the temp up so that she doesn't get to cold we need her to stay warm....

I dont' beleive it was yolk, I beleive it was swelled up belly button.. But it looks very good now, looks like it has shrunk up

If she still had yolk, she would NOT be out of that shell, because attached to the yolk is her Cord full of blood, the Cord would still be attached to inside that shell.. You see the yolk gets absorbed, then they have to close up there belly button, the last and final stage is to absorb all the blood to where the cord dries up and breaks as they pull themselves away..

So I don't believe there's any yolk, maybe in the first pic but I couldn't tell the pic is to dark., but definitely no now..
