Holy cr@p! I think my neighbor's chickens that they have abandoned that we've been feeding are Cuckoo Marans then!
I'll take a pic!

Maybe someone can help me. I bought a "barred rock hen" at auction. She is 2 years old. I've had her mixed in my barred rock flock. I can easily tell her from the rest as she has a larger comb than the other girls, with lots of clear points like a roo, just more full and pointy. That is how I tell her apart, plus her legs are not yellow like my others. I've had her for almost a week now. I keep getting eggs that are tinted and I am not sure if she has laid any yet. Her barring is very regular and looks even better than my barred rocks. Her barring is close to perfect. She looks really really nice with her perfect barring which is why I wanted her. But the non-yellow legs makes me wonder if I have a CM or a BR? What do you think based on this info alone? I don't have a pic available at the time of posting. If I keep getting tinted eggs I would guess she is in fact a BR but if they are chocolate I guess it's a CM? Does that sound like a good plan or is there something else I can look for in her?
