Difference of mother instinct in Rhode Island Red Hens.

oh... goodie... this is different site than I used to look at.. mypetchicken.com... they are more expensive than privetthatchery. but compitition is fair in the U.S. of A... unfortunately or fortunately however it may be.. but I will keep my eye out. I dont know if one will raise or it will lower, and which one... lmao... ;) but I think I recall each had different breeds anyways. I'm pretty sure they are (mypetchicken) a gr8 place to get from, good quality you are paying for. but i don't doubt that privetthatchery is that much less quality.. I just hope each takes best care for their business in chickies. ;) so where did you get your silkies, iluvseward? I may get them from either Privett or mypetchicken. and I think they even have a forum there and I was gonna put pics of mine there, but I felt that if I joined, it would have to only be chickens from there.

@ Spike Nipper, yes, I agree it's hard for RIR to be broody.. but I was wrong about momma bird being all red, no black. there is black underfeather and just the very tips are red. She does look very Buckeye mixed with RIR. And we got her from a local store in Shreveport under the breed name there of "RIR". She could be like on this site, where they say "breeds"- Star only, or another Red breed like New Hampshire Red, both found on first page listed as something else beside RIR, but we got her from a store that told us that they sold only RIRs.. but she looks Buckeye or something other than RIR, I was gonna try to get her picture put on here so other members on here can tell me what kind of bird y'all think she is.

So no wonder now babies have lots of black feathers, and I bet they are going to stay black. I will post a pic of the daddy cuz he's like half black. the other half silver. He's half Brahma, half Wyandotte and he show both good features, it's crazy. ;) I'd rather have a better looking rooster, but one of you may like a trade-in rooster? We were gonna keep him and let him breed with the females he has now, 8 hens now.

I know guineas make nests that are secluded. I had 4 guineas bought 2010, first guineas I ever had, never found any egg... they go to neighbors and I'm not allowed to go their cuz their dogs bark. My fiance wouldn't let me and the neighbor gave me a mean look. I tried telling her I'm only looking for eggs. She knows I got birds. At least we moving to a bigger farm soon, and my guinea/s will be garden birds only. fenced in to keep garden safe along with birds.
And thing is about guineas, is that they will leave nests in the rain, which kills keets. and the cold will kill embryo inside probably. and their eggs are small so that's why I know I never found 'em yet. but caged up, I should find them. 3 girls I had and 1 male and the male died.

I promise I'll try to not talk too much.. lmao ;) I dont' wanna put my friends thru too much work.. ;) Just when I get interested I tend to talk like this a lil.. but I see other people do it online now.. but I will be me. ;) Nice to meet y'all. laterz.
