Differences EE, Ameraucana, & Araucana * Pls post pics*

Pics
Here is Louie, a blue wheaten ameraucana. His beard is starting to change to adult color. He's 6-7 months old. He's standing really funny, please ignore it. He was kind of freaked out about the camera and this was the only clear picture I got. Here is a 5 1/2 week old blue wheaten cockerel. He thinks he's a silkie. I'm not telling him any different yet.
are those standards or bantam?
The ameraucana is a large fowl. The silkies are the normal bantam size we have in the U.S. There is a big size difference now and I've tried moving Jr over to the ameraucana pen several times but he has been indoctrinated into the silkie way and does not want to be there and will escape and get back into the silkie bachelor pen with his adopted brothers.

Not a very good picture of Valentino, but he has no wattles and reddish eyes, bluish black feathers underneath.

Well, I think I am beginning to understand EE and Americauna's. These are my two hens, and my recently acquired roo. They all have slate/black legs and I always thought the eggs were mint green, but I guess you all call them blue or blueish green. The black pullet was a rescue a friend finally caught in a trap in the middle of winter. They are so sweet natured and gentle. Let me know if I have this wrong.

Ditto Dat^^^^

When the hatcheries allude to Ameraucana and/or Araucana, then their re-sellers(especially mine) just call them that....is even more annoying.

I've dubbed them AmeraKinda. :D
So it sounds like most if not all big hatcheries are selling EE and not Ameraucana. I just ordered some from Ideal, but I am looking for blue eggs and not a show quality bird, so it should be OK.

They look to be EEs. All of my EEs lay either nice blue eggs, or olive colored on some of the older girls. All of mine have beards and most have the slate legs. Those traits alone don't make them ameraucana. Some of the EE's actually lay nicer blue than some of my wheaten ameraucana, and the EEs do lay more eggs.

Well thank you guys! I was out examining them an had decided they were EE's. They are great layers and friendly, so that's all that matters.

I really like the white one with a bit of black around the neck. SUPER pretty!

Thank you, she is actually a light buff lace color. It looks like she is crossed with a light Brahma doesn't it? I need to take better pictures. And I decided to just keep EE's for layers because they have always laid consistantly for me, better than my Oprington's, Wyandotte's, or Barred Rock's ever did, and such sweethearts.
