Differences EE, Ameraucana, & Araucana * Pls post pics*

the pen those eggs came firmware supposed to be b/b/s, so I was guessing the white one would get black as it got bigger

Looks like a white from what I can tell by beak color... are they true Am's or EE's? Do you know what lines they came from?

I am just asking cuz recessive white has been cropping up in many Am's lately... :)

true ameraucana but don't know line. That girl will have to be in an egg producer pen not a breeding pen (when I have different pens that is)

I am assuming that my roosters are mutts. The first has a pea comb but does not match the color requirement of the Ameraucana breed. The second has a huge comb that lays over one side. He also has a tail that does not sit at a 45 degree.
My desire is to breed them to my brown egg layers (cuckoo marans, welsummer, etc) to get olive or plum eggs.

Not mutts. They are Easter Eggers.

Easter Eggers are mutts/ hybrids/ mix breeds. They are not a breed no more than a Labradoodle is. people like to think they are :) but they are not. NOTHING wrong with them as long as you understand they are a mix that won't breed true all the time

Actually not true. Hatchery Easter Eggers aren't mixed breeds. They are more of a landrace type, that haven't been bred to a particular breed standard. They are what the recognized Ameraucana and Araucana breeds were created from.
Some Easter Eggers are crossbreeds, from backyard hobbyists trying to produce Olive Eggers. But the vast majority are hatchery/feed store sourced, and are not mixed breeds at all.

Hatcheries made up their own name for Easter eggers Americana. They did that to confuse people who think they are buying legit Ameraucanas
They are not Ameraucanas not even poorly bred ones

Araucanas were NOT created from them. They came in the form we now have from South America

Ameraucanas were created from the Araucanas

Easter Eggers/Americanas are created from breeding either Arauicana or Ameraucanas to other breeds and then in hatchery cases- often breeding those mixes to each other so yea you have a sort of "Landrace" hatchery "breed"

When the South American birds were imported to this country, they were all called Araucana. They were nicknamed Easter Eggers. It's those birds that the Araucana and Ameraucana breeds were created from. The birds that the hatcheries breed are descendants of those original imports. They are as close to the original imports as you can get these days. In order for hatcheries to have used true Ameraucana or Araucana in their lines, they must first have those breeds; and they never have, at any point had true Ameraucana or Araucana. They have always only had 'Easter Eggers'.
The confusing part is that, before the Araucana became a recognized breed, the blue/green layers were called Araucana. Rumpless, tailed, tufted, or muffed; it didn't matter. They were all called Araucana. What was called an Araucana in the 40s is not what we consider an Araucana these days.
Both Araucana and Ameraucana were derived from Easter Egger type birds.
