Is it possible when you buy a "clutch" of chicks from the feed store or online to get some that are older than others.

Feed store yes definitely. I got chicks this past spring and there were some bigger ones with feathered wings and some who looked like fresh hatchlings.

Usually not online, but at the feedstore, yes. Online, they have certain hatch dates that they send them from, because they need to send them through the mail when they still have their yolk sack nutrition. Therefore, all your chicks should be from the same hatch date so they don't starve.
