Different breed or color variation?

I have a flock of RIR and Black Sex links from Tractor Supply. I’m at 7 weeks now and The blacks are black, and the RIR’s are a dark mahogany except 1 who is a much lighter buff color. Is this a color variation or different breed? (The lighter one is the friendliest in the flock which makes me wonder?)

Doesn't look like a RIR at all. Maybe a misplaced chick? Also looks like a cockerel

No, he is a different breed. I would guess New Hampshire or one of Hoovers Rainbow hybrid breeds.

I’ve seen New Hampshires but I don’t know anything about Rainbow hybrids.

Update!!!

We are at about 10 weeks now. Still wondering what breed this is? Also I know several have said this is a cockerel but it sure doesn’t act like the other cockerel I have. Any second opinions?

I don't know the breed but if you're saying he's only 10 weeks old, I agree that he's a cockerel. His hackle feathers are pointy which is male-specific and his comb is pretty red. A 10 week old pullet would still be pale pink.

Hatchery-quality Buff Orpington cockerel. He is certainly not pure because he has the wrong leg color. We are for sure that your chicken is a cockerel, there is no doubt. Different chickens have different personalities, no two will be the same.
