We have been raising back yard chickens for about six years. Up until this year, we have only had Anconas. Our new chickens are reds. So the Aconas and reds live together and eat the same diet; egg layer feed, crack corn, free range, scraps and occasionally meal worms. We have seen a big difference between the consistency of the two breed’s egg whites (the red’s egg whites take forever to cook, but the taste is the same). Has any else experienced this?
