Different looking RIRs

Thanks for opening my eyes.

He really looks like a roo to me now ( and I cannot get over it !):

Here is he as a little chick:

Maybe I'll just wait and see. I would hate to give him and Sugar away....

But I have just recently separated my two Polish hens so separating more chicken would be quite difficult... A new coop? Oh no. I was supposed to keep this chicken thing as "small" hobby...

Hopefully my OEGB rooster stays tough!

Thanks!

Yes, I can imagine Blondie starting to look more like Rudy when he grows more. Beautiful red feathering and red comb and wattle!
Did he grow together with other roosters?

Thanks much!

when I got Rudy and Blackie it was in June...I bought 4 hens from the man and of the 4 hens I actually got 3 roosters & 1 hen! Blackie was named Lady until he crowed, Rudy was Ruby until the hackel feathers, cone & waddles grew, there was whitey & Miss Beth, so yes you can buy roosters thinking they are hens when they are real young because if your not experienced you won't know the difference! All of mine have been raised together and they so far get along fine. Blackie is my head honcho!
Now my Gamebirds have been raised in a seperate pen tho! Would like likke to see a pic of my game birds that was taken a couple of months ago? They are pretty!

Hi,

According to the breeder Blondie (the big red roo) could be RIR and Red Leghorn cross

He is red like a flame!

Oh good, you sound like you are beginning again to accept him for the beautiful boy he is:) In all your pics, I could see the little spur nubbins on his legs but that didn't tell me he was a roo because I had a very large RIR hen w/spurs and she was really an egg laying, egg eating hen, I put her in the freezer last fall, the only egg eater I've had so far, knock on wood!

Leghorns have yellow legs too...and white earlobes...I'd keep looking for the other half.

Sugar isn't a boy...she's a pullet.

Blondie looks like a Butch.
