difficulty eating-thick saliva and a barking sound

tonight she received her third dose of IM penicillin- she also received a 3 day Penicillin tx 2 wks ago. I also have IM Tylan- any thoughts on whether i should try that ?

I'm no medical expert. Couldn't reccomend tylan one way or the other. But when human babies are having difficulty, there's a tool--sort of like a small turkey baster, and it's called a bulb syringe--it's used to remove mucous from the back of the throat. Could that work for your girl, do you think?

And could it be wet fowl pox? I'll try to look up an article, but this thread sounds about right, minus the head swelling.

foul pox was my first guess given the initial patches in throat and the few small black spots on hers and the other hens combs and they have had a warmed hen house so frost bite is un-likely
