Digital Artists, anyone?

Surprised. Didnt see this thread after I joined. Yeah, I use to be into dgital art, and animation. I had a subscribtion to Autodesk for Maya, and Mudbox for a few years. Been using Maya since it was owned by Alias. I don't have any work posted online, but I've learned how to rig, pose, unwrap, texture, animate, set up lighting, and render single images, and image sequences.

That was my favourite hobby growing up. Still remember how to do most of it. Dont do it much anymore though. Work, and life have their priorities. However, I'm up for discussing anything related to digital art. Currently my favorite app on my phone and tablet is the full version of Autodesk Sketchbook. Definitely love drawing.

I use Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop for all my digital art needs haha. I've always wanted to get Maya and learn how to use it! Really would be an experience into something completely new.

Work and life definitely tend to get in the way of making art, but thankfully i've been able to carve out some time to at least practice!

Maya is a very fun tool to work with. It's a great way to learn python as well. Mel script uses python if I remember correctly. Oddly, I never got into using Photoshop. I used a lot of gimp, and a few other programs. Think my favourite program for video editing was Vegas Pro.

Maya is super easy to learn. I love its UI. It also has an image effects tab with brushes you can use, and a particle system. I used to make animations of galaxies lol.

If you've ever watched the science channel, most of the space animations they used were made in Maya!
