The mirror trick worked! He finally seems relaxed and tomorrow I'm going to Farm Day at Tractor Supply to see what shows up. If I don't find anything- I've got an appt. to meet a lady Sunday and get two Welsh Harlequin drakes. I'm looking

Glad to see you'll be getting him some companions soon. However, although bad timing is how some accidents happen, other accidents can be avoided. You should consider cutting the flight feathers of your ducks or keeping them contained to keep them from flying off.

Here are the new guys! 2 month old Black Indian Runner drakes. Bill was super interested in them and talked a lot to them. We waited a little bit for them to settle and then let Bill out to officially meet them. The new boys followed him as if he were their mama! It was cute. Bill got a bit overwhelmed it seemed, just running away so I let him into his run again. The new boys went and camped in the corner there and haven't moved since. Bill is now back out just kinda wondering around. He'll go peek at them every now and then but not much else for now

Also, our neighbor did come over last night and apologize for what happened. He told me he was going to keep both his pups in their pen when he wasn't at home. That makes me feel a little better but I'll still be clipping Bill to keep him in our yard for now. We plan to build another fence around the rest of the property so in case he does fly from the immediate backyard, there's yet another layer of protection.
