Dilemma.

day 23-24 and no chicks yet. (why does it take my broodies longer to hatch eggs?)

well today was day 26 so ive pretty much given up on Flo hatching these eggs. ive noticed that the shells on some i cook are super hard so maybe that had something to do with it. i examined them today and i could feel a big chunky thing inside one egg, so there was some development...oh well, didnt need more birds anyway.

I'm sorry - and poor Flo she must be feeling pretty ragged after all that and no prize!

i finally took the eggs away from Flo. only one had developed--zeldas, the one i really wanted to hatch--and it was full term but couldnt get thru the membrane i guess. it was hard for me to get thru it, i had to like tear it with a good bit of force. she went back and got on her empty nest. *sigh*
