It happens. The first Big Moose I fertilized with a Dill's Giant Atlantic grew well for 2 weeks and then quit and rotted off.

I wonder what causes it to quit growing after such a long period of growing. Pumpkins to me are the hardest fruit to grow. But I sure do like trying to grow them.

Pollination was attempted with a male Whopper blossom.

Based on the lack of growth, I believe the pollination attempt failed. #s 2 & 3 look promising.

#1 - BM/DGA cross looks like a failed pollination, no growth.

42°F yesterday morning, 45°F this morning, good for the lettuce, not good for the rest of the garden.
It was 72 this morning, with a high of 83 today. Yesterday it was 92 with very high humidity. Tomorrow morning it’s supposed to be a low of 63. We get such a big swing in temps here. But the good thing is we are getting a good amount of rain every couple of days. So I am not going to complain too much.

It's nothing to get a 40 to 50 degree temperature swing during the day here. The other day the low was 40°F with a high of 90°F.

And the 3 plants I had at the bottom of the hill are not doing too well. I’m not sure if it’s ‘cos it just gets too hot for them down there or if it’s from a lack of compost in the dirt in that area but yeah…I don’t think I can do much about saving them at this point:
