I am looking for a timer or some device to put on my fluorescent light that will turn it on at a set time, then dim the lights then shut off. Anyone know if this is possible??

No doubt it's possible, but I've never heard of such a contraption...and dimming fluorescent lights can be tricky.

If you can live without the dimming, your project just got really simple!

I get a cheep solar light (non tapering works best) cut the appropriate sized hole on the sunny side of the coop, take the stake off, put it in.It's not bright, bright but it stays on for about 5-6 hr. dimming as it gos works for me.

The cheap solar light you're talking about...is it the kind you get for lighting up your walkway? It sounds like a good idea. Just trying to make sure I understand what you're referring to.
