Joining in the fun in the enclosure, I called it mass orgy dustbathing

Everyone else has to dustbathe outside of the real dustbath area, with special sand. Only the Queen the Dutch Bantam gets to have full rights to it

Everyone else better take turns and wait in line, OUTSIDE of the tire while the Queen takes her own sweet time.

I have always "added" sevin 5% dust to the chicken dust piles. They mix it in with the sand, throw it all over themselves and don't know that they are treating themselves for tiny beasties. I only do this when it's dry, before winter (Florida has a winter?). So, if we do get cooler than usual weather, their bodies are concentrating on keeping warm, not expending energy fighting off the perils of infestation..

This is when my girls were just 6 weeks old and I was putting them outside for an hour or so at a time. They would make a bee-line to the sand box area of their run and get busy.
