Dirt Bath!

It doesn't hurt them at any age. Dirt bathing actually is a method of keeping themselves clean. They don't have oily skin like we do, so the dirt doesn't act on their skin the same way it does ours. The dirt acts as a scrub to remove parasites, which is why if they aren't allowed to dirt bath (or can't due to old age) they can be overcome by mites or lice. (there's other reasons they can get a bad infestation of those of course, but not being able to bathe exacerbates the problem).

Unless the weather is bad, they have a daily routine that involves sunbathing and dirtbathing. ;)
