dirty butt

My bantam cochin has has a very dirty butt for about a week or two. What is causing this? Could it be her diet? I changed the kind of food my flock would eat.

Sometimes runny poo gathers on butt floof. Next poo gathers a bit more. Things then start piling up. I've had results cleaning/cutting the mass of poo off and then giving them a little trim to keep clean.

I just tried picking her up and she started flapping her wings around and going crazy. A lot of diarrhea leaked out when she did that.
