Dirty Eggs for Sale!?

I too have an occasional pooped egg! But I just rinse as soon as I get them in the house, air dry with clean towel. I know the shell will soak up germs if prolonged to wet conditions so I don't spend excess amount of time, just clean and rinse. We don't clean the eggs to use for hatching.

Dirty eggs in no way is a sign of somebody "too busy to have hens" Its just a natural process. Chickens are outdoor birds-that are meant to free range, and dig in mud, and eat worms and grubs and whatever they find. The eggs are going to get dirty occasionally-if you ask me its a sign that they are authentically "fresh" eggs.
So pleased you said this. I clean my birds meticulously but when they decide to lay in a dirty plant pot rather than a clean nest box, that's no marker of how busy I am. Some folk need to be more thoughtful.
