Dirty Quail!

Sooo my rosetta quail are pretty dirty-looking. I am SO not beyond giving them a bath if I have to, but I also don't want to terrorize the poor little guys. Their plumage looks dull. I feed them a high-quality feed and they LOVE to dust-bath in their sand baths. How can I shine these guys up?

Did it occur to you that in quail culture they ARE clean. They just took a (dust) bath after all.

Pictures? Sand bath might help them more than a dust bath to get clean. Construction sand is cheap and works well.
