Disappeared Cockerel

They're doing fine, hen started laying again and were trying to hatch eggs now because we haven't tried it before and it's quite exciting! (Only a week left!)
We did think the predator would come back for more, so we have to keep close while the flock is outside just in case. We are also thinking of using the old toy shed to keep new chickens in, and also building and attaching a nice run to it!

Alright how exciting one more week till hatch time ...

This is our little Mama who hatched out some 23 chicks a
little more then a week ago and hasn't lost any yet ....

Predators might take a rest but do tend to come back at some
point this I can attest to and won stop till they get what they
came for nasty little creators .....

Great to be reading you hens are back to laying how many you
get today I got 7 egg's out of 10 hens but one has chicks and it
was 114 F degrees by 10 AM so they are really hanging in there ..

Glad everything's going okay. Hopefully when the chicks hatch you'll be able to post pictures!

gander007, you have a beautiful hen! Is it a Barbad'uccle by any chance?
We have 4 hens right now and one new Columbian cockerel, a white one, again!

Sorry to hear! I want to free range my chickens so bad but this is why I don't think I ever will. Mine are in an uncovered run right now but it's not that big and they have places to hide. Crossing my fingers that I don't have to experience this. :(
