disappearing chick

my serama hen hatched out 3 chicks a week ago and this morning one was gone. there is no way in or out of the broody cage. could mom have eaten one of her own chicks?

Is the chick stuck under the mother's wing? Sometimes when you lift a hen the chicks are caught among the feathers.

ok so ive searched her and she was not happy with it and still no chick. WHAT HAPPEND TO THIS CHICK? this is driving me crazy!!! please give me some ideas of what could have happend. the broody cage is in my bedroom. so no animal could have gotten at it

If there's no way in or out, could you have accidentally counted one chick twice? Or maybe when you were opening the cage one hopped out on you somehow?

you can see all three chicks in my avitar and the broody cage is a wood box that is 2 foot tall with a screen cover.

Well.. that is beyond weird. And none could have hopped out on you? Hmm.. then it's in there somewhere. I've never heard of a hen eating one of her babies. Must be wearing some weird chicken camo, lol

i cleaned out the box today just to look for the poor little chick. it is noware to be found. what a strange sad day.
