Sudden mysterious death in chicks, besides being utterly disturbing and disappointing, requires a bit of investigation. You need to try to think back to where your chicks were hanging out recently. Take a very close and hard look at everything from soil to plants growing in this area. Are there any mushrooms? Strange weeds with unusual seeds, flowers or fruit? How about machinery sitting about that may be leaking toxic fluids onto the soil beneath. (hydraulic fluid, motor oil) Long stemmed grass that has been left un-mowed? Insects - have you treated anything with insecticides in the general vicinity? Grit - what treats have you fed and is there grit available? Have you imported any top soil or borrowed any garden tools such as roto-tiller or mower or loaned them out and recently gotten them back with soil coating them?
There's a clue in there somewhere. We need to find it.
