I wish it was Flordia, we are coming from near the Phillipines so about a 24-hr flight, my poor pets

. We are looking to rent in either Illinois or Wisconsin.

It's going to cost me A LOT to get them to Chicago but I love them and the treatment of animals here is horrid, dare I say it, animal fighting is legal here

So I REFUSE to leave my pets behind, I can't rescue them all but so far my husband and I have rescused and placed 5 dogs, one died of cancer and many of chickens. We have two cats and a dog, we decided though it would be expensive we would rescue here to save a pet from the life it may have had. Ugh. We are also hoping it will help our daughter transition since this is all she knows. Sorry I'm rambling, jstu stressed out about everything and not having a house lined up.

Hope you find something decent.Around my NE Ohio area people are buying up houses for 40k or less,and then charging a huge rent. I can unstand trhe pet concern,but renting can be a risk with our without them.

I would highly recommend going to a real estate website and looking for rentals there. Sales slumping means lots of owners are renting, and if you go to an agency, an individual can help you. That's a much better way to have a person make the call than a landlord, because they are so used to protecting their property. Also, a home that isn't selling may never have been a rental and may be in much better condition and free from cat damage from previous tenants.

If a house is a past rental, there is a good chance there is a history of cats spraying, which is horribly difficult to fix. Once a cat comes into a home with that, even a wonderful cat with no history of spraying can be compelled to respond in kind. Knowing the home's history may be the reason these landlords are so adamant.
