I bet that if you were to place some wiggly worms inside a plastic bag, and toss it into the pen, and then return several hours later, they will have managed to overcome their fear, and the worms will have been liberated from the bag.

That's Alice. Those are brand new feathers. All last winter and all summer long, until she just molted this fall, she was completely bald under that saddle I sewed for her to keep her warm in winter and from getting sunburned in summer. She even had bald shoulders, thus the shoulder ruffles. She gets bullied constantly and mercilessly. Even today, I had to haul her in to my workbench to do first aid on a torn comb. And it's been partially dubbed for this very reason. Poor Alice. But she sure is pretty now, and I'll pass the compliments on to her!
