If I could just pause getting older till my kids get round to having kids that would be nice. But I might be in pause for a decade or two.

If I could go back to that sad, lonely, depressed 22 year old in an empty apartment on Christmas Day when her heat went out and her landlord said "nobody was available to fix it because it's Christmas Day, but we'll get someone out as soon as we can," and she couldn't go home to family because they were three hours away and she had worked Christmas Eve and had to work early the day after...

I'd give her a hug and tell her, "Yes, you will get through this. You will get through worse days than this. Right now, your life is full of pain and sadness, but things will get better. You will gain a wisdom that books and professors cannot teach you, a strength that comes from being crushed to breaking. There is love and laughter, joy and beauty in your future. It is worth the pain you feel right now to get there."

That’s a good idea! They mentioned in group pausing it during like a heated argument for example so you could gather your thoughts, take a breath, etc. before responding which I thought was brilliant lol

But the rewind is definitely very useful because there’s a lot of impulsive things I’ve said or done that I regret.

I’d treat my mom better too, for one. And take her to see the dang snowy owls she kept asking me to take her to go see on the beach.

There were times in my life that I said the things I said because I was upset, but at the same times those are true of how I felt and I did not want to say it, until that time.

In some ways, the true comes out unintended, but true feeling nevertheless. Not always, but sometimes it needs to be said/heard.

I'd take my chances on rewinding to change some history ... if only to allow me to recognize abuse and escape it long before it did permanent, long-term damage. If kids from my childhood had been taught some of the things we teach them today - and if people back then hadn't been so anxious about not getting involved, there would have been one more monster put away where he couldn't have hurt anyone ever again.
