Disease, Eye Infection, Eye Poked, or Something Else?

I noticed one of my quail roos had his left eye shut and wouldn’t open it. I had seen him get into a squabble with one of the hens earlier so I assumed it had been pecked but a friend of mine said it might be coryza (which I highly doubt because there are no other symptoms and it doesn’t look swollen like in the pictures of quail with coryza) but it got me thinking that it could possibly be an eye infection? I’m having a hard time finding good pictures of eye infections in quail so I’m definitely not sure.

About him:
-6 weeks old
-Coturnix
-kept outdoors & on grass

Anyways, just looking for any insight into what it could be/how to treat it. He’s not one of my pet quail, he’s just for breeding so I’d rather not take him to the vet.

I'm not that familiar with Quail, but answer a few questions that may help those taking a look.
What does the inside of his beak look like - any lesions, canker/yellow/white pasty material?
Do you notice a bad odor?
If you open the eye are there any bubbles? Any pus?

He doesn't look sick to me.
I'd guess he was just pecked or beat up.

How many birds do you have in his cage?
Can you get a picture of his cage?

The inside of his beak looked normal, no snot, no odor. I didn’t try to open his eye but I will in the morning. The lack of other symptoms makes me think it’s something simple like an injury but I’m also slightly worried it could be the beginning of something bigger.

There’s 9 birds total in his cage, he’s the only male. Once it’s light out I’ll snap a picture. What kind of pictures would be helpful? An overall shot? A closeup of the fencing? Maybe the ground? Anything small or sharp enough to hurt his eye?

They have an indoor area and a hide out under their feeder. The cage is 3’x5’ and I’m not sure how tall it is but it’s a flight bird cage that I (5’2”) can stand in without ducking.
