Disease? Or Nothing?

my Lavender Orpington has these odd black growths on her comb & wattles! Does someone know what they are? Are they life threatening?! TYIA

That looks like fowl pox to me, not life threataning almost all birds get it once in their life, and the good thing is after they get it they most likely won't get it again. It is contagous though.
 
VetRX is a respiratory aid, it's like Vick's Vapor Rub for chickens. Won't do anything for fowl pox.

Best to let it run it's coarse.

This is partly true, but VetRX also helps with colds and respiratory diseases, and fowl pox is a respiratory disease. from personal experience when I give my girls some VetRX when they are suffering from fowl pox they do a lot better. I'm just trying to help though, I know some people have said it doesn't work but for me it has and I have used on at least forty to fifty chickens.
