Disgusted and angry....

Normally, cats kill one at a time and eat it, if still hungry might come back... They are not a pack animal and don't leave the kind of carnage seen here. This is the work of large dogs, probably within 5 miles of you, or if you are in an area where camping is nearby, perhaps from a campsite. The tracks left are clearly from very large dog, probably weighing at least 100lbs.

I come home after going to the dealership to buy another car and it’s a total massacre! We let out birds free range and something managed to kill all 30 of our pullets and cockerels. It ate a few and just left the rest. Warning graphic. Time to get the 12 gauge and load a nice slug. Not getting away from me. Any idea what this was? I have print pictures.View attachment 1454714 View attachment 1454716 View attachment 1454719 View attachment 1454720 Large prints View attachment 1454713

This just happened to me yesterday as well. except i interrupted it in its killing. I was home with my dogs and didn't hear a thing . it was a large coy-wolf that killed mine. just bit their butts and broke all their necks. it came back last night to retrieve more bodies but we had cleaned them up. this is so heart breaking I'm so sorry.

I say a dog or dogs. They kill for sport and leave the body. So so sorry for your loss :(

I have dogs of my own which would never dream of it.. and I have a coyote and 2 fox living in the woods. They always take the body away from the killing point. Fox will kill a few, but not that many and hid the other body's in a den, and even then it would have to be around mating season to kill so many. I agree. I shot 2 fox already and sent them to fox hell. 2 fox left so my birds are fenced in for now. This is legal where I live, if livestock or crops are destroyed I have every right to protect what's mine.

Good luck! Again im so sorry :(

Due to the size of prints I'm still going with wolf. Inhave large dogs and the prints are not close to being that large. It could have been a practice hunt interrupted. Coyotes, wolves, etc show the young how to hunt. I'm pretty sure they got the eating part down pat. Maybe something came along and spooked whatever it was before it could eat anything. I would think that would be case no matter what it was. Or the kill was made and whatever it was went back to grab their babies to eat but somehow got interrupted and couldn't get back to the kill to feed.
