I think you need a bigger container for that many chicks. I have my 9, three- week- old chicks in a huge 50-gallon rubbermaid bin and even that is getting crowded and a bit stinky. Your chicks are only going to get bigger... You might consider making the $20 investment in a large 65 gallon rubbermaid bin at a hardware store. Easing the stink will be well worth it! (Goes without saying, but leave the lid off.)

You shouldnt be smelling them that quickly if the brooder is being kept clean, and is size appropriate! We have 10 chicks in a tub in our house and I have only smelt them one time and we are freaks about stink here lol lol

It is "masterfeeds". It is not from tractor supply its from my local co-op.

The larger the brooder the better, for more reasons than just the smell. You've got to figure that you lose square footage between the roosts, the waterers, and the feeders. They do need the room to run around, bathe and just be chicks! Just my opinion, have fun with the little stinkpots though!!! lol

I love big rubbermaid totes for my brooders. I think splitting them up is a great idea. To keep from getting issues later, I mix the chicks twice a day so everyone spends time together and has a chance to set up pecking order issues.

I've found that certain chick starter feeds actually make the poo smell.. hmm.. wonder if its the starter feed?

I've not heard of that brand of feed before. But, most definitely you need more room for them. If it bothers you that much, you might consider switching to a pelleted pine bedding rather than the flakes. It's much more absorbent.
