An Update!
I finally got pictures from my phone.
In the mean time, Ella is now let loose of her bath tub hospital, had the temperature acclimation time outside, and now runs and plays with her "brother" and two "sisters". I'll have to get a current photo but wanted to show some of the photos from what happened.
Here's the blissful moment of peace literally just hours before her dislocation:
The next morning, Ella on my lap at the animal clinic waiting for the doctor to come back in. (She decided to sit on my lap and broke my heart, thinking I might be about to lose her). Bye bye wing.
Ella, day 1, in the bathroom hospital
A little closer. The "slit" is actually just the space between her big thigh muscle (bottom pink part) and her stump (top bump)
This was the second day after the amputation. You can't see how black it was here, but it was scary. The top "bump" is her stump, the lower "bump" is a big "blister" where the air from her bone is leaking into her skin and swelling and bruising it.
From this point, everything started to shrink after 2 days - sort of like a pink/black balloon, wrinkles and all. Kind of neat - since it was going away!
Oh and one more - who could say "no" to a face like this?
Recent photos upcoming.
