Does a Tom need and hen to display? We rescued Jack this summer, someone had won him from a turkey shoot; must have been in October of 2011 so I'm thinking he will soon be 1 year. I thought he was sick but went through the molt and now he is looking good but I can't get him to display for me. I try smooth talking him but no go, guess I can't speak turkey or hen! Sometimes he puffs out but I think its the cool weather :). My husband told me to put my thumbs under my arm pits, stoop down walk around the yard like that for 30 minuts maybe he'll strut.

No he doesn't need a hen to display, mine will do it when hes mad or sees ssomething he likes or even his own reflection in the shiny car door.
