Uhg, lost a grey drake last night. Best one I had, don't know how or why.

Did get 65 tons of rock dumped on the driveway this week. Thankfully! It really needed it!

Got work to do on the coop runs. Need to add a top that is sturdier than the one I currently have. Everyone have a good day!

im putting wire, true wire, over top. Right now it's a mixture of fishing line and plastic wire. I'm putting metal wire, probably poultry netting, to stop overhead predators. I really wonder if something tried to grab my drake and dropped him as he was uninjured and not sick but was just dead. Everyone else is fine and it looks like there is feathers stuck to the fishing lines and plastic netting. I want more security

I'll be roofing the henhouse pen "aviary" with the expansion soon I have hardware cloth on it now.......I found this heavy 25 by 50 bird netting to go over the free range area I want to replace the plastic stuff thats there now.....with the way the expansion will be going I will have like a chicken village of chicken condo's the new townhouse will go up next then will do the roof.. not looking forward to having to yank all the staples out of the hardware cloth and take it down and redo it to where the walls are moving lol...but it will give me a grow out henhouse attached to the main henhouse so I thought work well for broody and chicks or some chicks to grow out in can just close the henhouse and they can grow out inside it for couple weeks......Although I have seen absolutely NO problem with my hen raising her chicks with the main flock.. she doesnt go after anyone more then usual.. the baby chicks been side by side with all the other chickens I didnt think she would let them get close to the others...maybe it's because she is the top of the pecking order??



edited to add I have tarp over the hardware cloth now.. cuz of winter and being to lazy to do the roof then......

the doctor can write a prescription and it will be covered byt eh prescription to be replaced if you have medicaide, medicare , ombamacare... If those arent an option check your local senior center they often have equiptment donated to the center to be dispersed out for those in need..also good place to donate medicail equiptment to and help those in the community out in need....check craigslist.. Often estate sales where elderly passed away have emdical equiptment the family is trying to sell...should have some sort of resale medical equiptment store over there in the big city....




Some churchs also have medical needs programs or assistance for such instances for ppl in need elderly ect,....

I have tried twice to get on MediCal since the Obamacare was mandatory. All I got was the sound of crickets. I havent seen a doctor of any kind in about ten years. Back then I was going to the Native American clinic on the reservation. No insurance then either. For what its worth they cant turn you away on the reservation. for standard clinic care... meds, stitches, referals.

There is a clinic on the mountain that my address works for... my neighbor got his MediCal insurance with their assistance. I only just found this out. So when the open enrollment comes up again I will go there to have them sign me up.

The deal is originally MediCal wass only offered to women with children and people needing emergency surgery... You have to be a certain income and cannot have money in the bank.... Basically the same requiarements as welfare recipients. But when Obama Care came about California said... Hey we can just roll those people who cant afford insurance of any kind into MediCal. Unfortunately the Bureocracy was already in place to administer MediCal... apparently they didnt read the memo.

So I applied at the very same time as my son. Same info ... He got his... I got crickets. By the time I realized I hadnt recieved my card the enrollment window was closed. I dont do well on the phone... a failing on my part. and the thought of waiding through the beurocracy again makes me go into a panic attack.

The saving grace is though... if I have an emergency they will sign me up in the ER....

Oh well.

I really like my concrete reinforcing wire... very nice. For my bantam coop, I have that, and then a layer of chicken wire on top of the concrete wire.

It is STURDY!

My baby sister had to get on Obamacare.... it was highly difficult... and she LIKES being on the phone

But, it took her HOURS, and then the first time through she was denied.... which was all kinds of stupid,

anyway... long story, lots of ranting.... but it did finally work out.... however, I TOTALLY understand why you haven't tried a second time.
