oh and got a sheet of metal for the expansion today plus have some scrape pieces from the garage shop so that will set up our coops roof expansion right n tight

was talking to a friend who has pot bellied pigs which I think would be perfect for us said they were getting 200 pounds of meat once processed year of raising em.......

Good morning all! It's 2:30am. I CAN'T SLEEP

I have made myself stay in bed 5 or 6 times already and I just can't sleep tonight/ this morning.

Upon further investigation, my crabapple trees have taken a hit with something called sapsucker woodpeckers. Not sure if this is the cause of the hollow trunk, but I'm sure its not helping matters. The trees both appear to be growing fine, so I'll watch them and it is suggested that I wrap the tree trunk in burlap to keep the woodpeckers away. Darn it, I love birds and when I googled the pic, yeap, I have seen those little farts many times in our yard. Had no idea they were plotting to kill off my pretty trees!

@vehve , never tried pressing the crabapples. I might make a press and see what I can do this fall. Little girl and I pick off the lower branches of crabapples at the end of summer & feed them to the chickens. The crabapples are not very juicy though.
