A friend of mine has been growing "stuff" for years. He asked for a dozen eggs to start his seeds in. I have never in my life heard of that

I actually have... pretty cool seen pictures of it somewhere.... when they are ready to plant just poke em in the hole and give the shell a squeeze to crack it a little... The plant takes care of the rest....

Beer, sounds interesting. Any mention of how much meat on them? If they've used French lops to build up the size it might develop bone structure first.

I've seen that egg planting too, it's very pretty, but I don't know if it really is all that practical.
 
My gramma used to start flower seeds in eggshells like that. I think it would work great for seeds you just want to make sure they grow and transplant. Those seed starting trays are smaller than that.
