Wow!  I am so glad your hatch was so good!

Of the two quail... one looked close enough to "done" that I eased it a bit out of the shell this morning before church.. and when I just now came back and checked on him, he was out all of the way all looks really good!  PHEW!  So, I promised , and I have 4!  ABOUT TIME! (delivering what I have promised ) quail #5 STILL doesn't look quite ready to hatch, but is also still alive... so not yet sure on him, one way or the other... but I have 4, so he can die if he wants to (sing with me now "It's his party and he can die if he wants to, die if he wants to...")

As to the Leghorns

They are hatching, and hatching properly....  except remember the one early hatcher was a single comb white leghorn... he does not look creamy enough to be a buff or a pyle.....  just a plain white leghorn....

So I look in after church, and there are maybe 6 in there now... One might be an Echequer which is kinda cool.... But, right off hand I only say TWO with rose combs, one brown and the other a white (remember, I ordered 1 dozen rose comb dark browns, and one dozen rose comb white) but....  the white rose comb chick has a dent across its comb.. super odd.. AND A WRY NECK!

Isn't that a nutritional problem from the breeder?  SHEESH!  My nutrition is clearly not the best, but none of my chicks have hatched out with a wry neck!! 

I think I remember that if I feed the blasted chick vitamins it might turn out ok....  anyway... gonna search that now

poly vi sol without iron dropped into the beak several times a day will correct wry neck. I've heard it's a nutritional issue and I've heard genetic and I've heard stress can cause it. I don't know which is it but after one has had it here, I won't breed them anymore. I'm glad you got the 4th quail though!

Isabels x isbars would be a good looking SBEL

lavender is recessive so you'd have to breed the offspring of the original cross together to show the color.

@Amberjem I think @chickisoup was apologizing to you as the OP since she brought up personal beliefs... some people get offended if others pray for them... personally, I feel that anything from the heart that is meant in a positive way needs no apology...
